Let’s face it, the Christian life is hard. Relationships take work. Christians forget. Sometimes it is tempting to go back to the days when God was not the center of our lives – to backslide. We are all faced with tremendous pressures to drift away from intimacy with Jesus and the community of the Church. However, in this six-week study, we will see that the Lord invites us to pay attention, to move forward, to draw near, and to live lives of worship.
“The book of Hebrews is often ignored as a resource for both the formation of Christian worship and the formation of Christians through worship. Draw Near provides a welcome corrective. This new educational resource guides congregations and participants through what has often been considered difficult material in a new way. It stimulates intellectual knowledge and the spiritual fruit of sincere praise of God through participation in the temple of the New Covenant—Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest.”
The Rev. Nathan G. JenningsJ. Milton Richardson Associate Professor of Liturgics and Anglican Studies and Director of Community Worship, Seminary of the Southwest, Austin, TX
"We spent a long time on Draw Near, and we came away with a deeper understanding of Hebrews than any of us had ever considered before. Our discussions were always lively and spiritually invigorating... I never understood the Epistle of Hebrews the way I do now."
